Privacy Policy

Computer Village ("we", "us"), operated by Agodi Technologies (Pty) Ltd, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use computer-village.africa, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• •Account details — name, email, phone number and password when you create a buyer or seller account.
• •Identity & verification data — where you choose to get verified, ID/registration numbers and related details processed through our identity partners (AfriID for buyers, VeroID/IDVero for sellers).
• •Store & listing data — business name, logo, product information and pricing that merchants provide.
• •Transaction data — orders, repair bookings, delivery details and payment status. We do not store full card numbers.
• •Communications — messages you exchange with other users or with support, and chats with our CVAI assistant.
• •Technical data — device, browser, IP address and usage information collected automatically to keep the service secure and working.

2. How we use your information

• •Create and operate your account and storefront.
• •Process orders, payments, payouts and repair bookings.
• •Verify identity and business legitimacy, and display trust/verified badges.
• •Prevent fraud, abuse and prohibited listings, and keep the marketplace safe.
• •Provide support and respond to disputes.
• •Improve our products and the CVAI assistant.
• •Send service messages and, where permitted, updates you can opt out of.

3. Identity verification & third parties

When you request verification, the information you submit is processed by our identity infrastructure — AfriID (consumer identity & trust scoring) and VeroID / IDVero (business verification), which in turn use accredited verification engines (e.g. Smile ID) to confirm government IDs and business registrations. We receive a verification result and trust signal; we do not control these partners' own processing, which is governed by their privacy terms.

4. Payments

Card and gateway payments are handled by third-party processors (Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe). Bank transfers are made directly to the account shown at checkout using your order reference. We never see or store your full card details. Payment partners process your data under their own privacy policies.

5. Sharing your information

• •With buyers and sellers, as needed to complete an order, delivery or repair (e.g. a seller sees the delivery details for their order).
• •With service providers (hosting, identity, payments, communications) who act on our instructions.
• •Where required by law, or to protect our rights, users and the public.
• •In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition).

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use essential cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your cart. We choose privacy-preserving defaults and do not use non-essential tracking without consent.

7. Data retention & security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. We apply technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. International users

Computer Village serves users across Africa and beyond. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own; where it is, we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.

10. Children

The service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
