Buyer Disclaimer & Terms
Last updated: 28 June 2026 · Operated by Agodi Technologies (Pty) Ltd
Computer Village is an online marketplace that connects buyers with independent sellers and technicians. These terms explain your rights and responsibilities as a buyer. Please read them before purchasing.
⚠️ Computer Village is a venue, not the seller. Products are listed and sold by independent merchants, and repairs are performed by independent technicians. We do not manufacture, own, inspect or take possession of most items, and we are not a party to the contract of sale between you and a seller.
1. Marketplace role
We provide the platform, discovery, messaging, identity/trust tools and payment facilitation. The agreement to buy a product or book a repair is between you and the seller or technician. Their listings, descriptions, prices, warranties and availability are their responsibility.
2. Verified badges
A "Verified" badge (via VeroID/AfriID) means the seller or technician completed an identity or business verification check. It is a trust signal — not a guarantee of any product's quality, authenticity, fitness or outcome. Always review listings and seller ratings before buying.
3. Product accuracy & condition
- •Sellers are responsible for accurate titles, descriptions, photos, specifications and pricing.
- •Items may be New, Refurbished or Used — check the stated condition carefully before purchase.
- •If a delivered item materially differs from its listing, raise a dispute (see below).
- •Be alert to counterfeit risk on branded electronics; buy from verified, well-rated stores where possible.
4. Payments & safety
- •Pay only through Computer Village's supported methods — bank transfer (using your order reference), or our payment gateways (Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe).
- •Never pay a seller off-platform or to a personal account that differs from the details shown at checkout. Off-platform payments are not protected.
- •For bank transfers, your order is held as 'awaiting transfer' until payment is confirmed; use the exact reference shown.
- •Escrow protection is planned for a future release; until then, exercise normal caution.
5. Repairs marketplace
Technicians are independent providers. Quotes, timelines, parts and workmanship are theirs. Back up your data before any repair, and confirm scope and price before booking.
6. Your responsibilities
- •Provide accurate account, delivery and payment information.
- •Use the marketplace lawfully and not to buy prohibited or stolen goods.
- •Communicate and pay through the platform; treat sellers and technicians respectfully.
- •Inspect items on delivery and report problems promptly.
7. Returns, refunds & disputes
Returns and refunds follow the seller's stated policy and applicable consumer-protection law. If you and a seller cannot resolve an issue, you may open a dispute and our team will review the available evidence. Our decision on platform-facilitated payments is intended to be fair but does not replace your legal rights or remedies against the seller.
8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Computer Village and Agodi Technologies (Pty) Ltd disclaim warranties regarding third-party products, sellers and technicians, and are not liable for the goods or services you obtain from them. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
